Pawel

The most enjoyable part of my role is hiring an individual who was approached by me during an active search.

Meet Pawel, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, who helps Lundbeck’s  Research & Development team to find talents globally.

What is your role in Lundbeck?

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, I support the business in various recruitment activities within Research & Development (R&D) areas such as Regulatory Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, Global Patient Safety, Non-Clinical Safety Research, and Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls. Given the complexity of R&D, I recruit for a broad range of positions, including chemists, technicians, scientists, medical advisors, project managers, and directors, among others.

This diversity of roles offers substantial learning opportunities. The areas I support are segmented into smaller units, each responsible for specific, often niche, activities and tasks. Understanding the functions and responsibilities of the roles I recruit for is essential.

What do you find enjoyable and challenging in your work?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is successfully hiring someone I’ve proactively approached. It’s a sentiment many recruiters share!

As someone who enjoys conversation, my role offers ample opportunities to engage with others and share experiences and ideas.

Diversity is one of the most thrilling elements of my work. I have the honor of collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders at various organizational levels. My view extends beyond internal colleagues, as I regard all candidates as clients who deserve a fair, unbiased, and efficient recruitment process.

While the diversity is stimulating, it also presents challenges. I must continually adapt to their diverse needs and expectations, leaving little room for monotony.

Managing the expectations of hiring managers is another daily hurdle. To initiate meaningful discussions, thorough preparation is crucial. I allocate time for in-depth research on the specific role and conduct additional market analysis. This research enriches my understanding of the business and the employment landscape.

Who are you outside of your work?

It’s no secret that I’m an extroverted person with ADHD and a kind of edgy sense of humor. Sometimes I know I’m a bit too talkative, but I try to keep it at a good level. I simply like to be around people and enjoy the company of others. To balance that, since I was a kid, I’ve read a lot of books. There isn’t a single Stephen King book that I haven’t read (including novels published under his aliases). I mostly enjoy crime novels or dystopian fiction.
