Our primary licensing interest is in products and projects that expand our range of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diseases of the Central Nervous System.
What we are looking for
Our basic strategy is to launch a new product with major sales potential every 3-5 years. In order to attain our growth targets, Lundbeck aims to develop a product pipeline that represents a balance between in-house projects and in-licensed projects.
It is our objective to in-license at least one late-stage compound (in Phase II or III clinical trials), plus one or two early-stage development projects every year.
Moreover, we are also interested in establishing research and development agreements as well as co-promotion, cross-promotion and co-marketing agreements with other healthcare players.
We continually work on expanding Lundbeck's portfolio of marketed products and are also actively seeking new products for single subsidiary/country, region, but preferably for global distribution.
Focus areas
Our main interest is in products and projects that expand our range of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diseases of, or associated with, the Central Nervous System. These will generally fall in two key areas: Psychiatry and Neurology. However other areas requiring a targetted and specialised sales force are also of interest.
Example of our key Psychiatry indications
- depression
- schizophrenia
- anxiety
Example of our key Neurology indications
- Parkinson's Disease
- Alzheimer's Disease
- sleep disorders
- stroke
Territories
In terms of territory, Lundbeck has historically had an interest in European rights for late-stage products due to our European strength and focus. We are, however, expanding our business fast in the US, South America, and Asia. Our subsidiary in Japan is also growing and developing. This means that our preference today is aimed more towards worldwide rights.
